The recent shipping accident with the cargo ship Tricolor off the Belgo-French coast reminded many of the Herald of Free Enterprise incident in 1987. Annually, N° 40 Squadron of the Belgian Air Component performs myriad interventions in emergency situations at one of the busiest shipping lanes in this region.
